Date : 14 October 2017
Title : Chinese Section Excursion to Putrajaya and Beyond Author: Wendy Lam

On 14 October 2017 (Saturday), the JIC Chinese Section organized a day trip cum outreach initiative to the nation's administrative seat in Putrajaya. This was an opportunity to build bridges with new friends that came along in an environment that was casual and fun. A total of 58 adults (mainly senior citizens) and 3 children signed up for this excursion. The day started off at 7am with quick breakfast of meehoon and nasi lemak in JIC. Right after, the group departed at around 8 am to Putrajaya.

Thereafter, the group continued with the second leg of the trip, which brought them to the now famous town Tanjung Sepat, a place that has recently been on the radar for many local "day trippers" looking to escape the city to somewhere that like near yet peaceful. There they visited a dragon fruit farm and a lingzhi center.

After the visit, the group spent some time at the Tanjung Sepat town centre and there they had lunch. On of the church elders Mr.Cheah Wing Choong also tagged along for this outing and rendered his services of his car and as a driver which came in handy as the rented bus was not able to enter the town to drop people off at the restaurant. For the last part of the trip, the group stopped by the GM Wholesale City in Klang to shop for bargains.

The JIC Chinese Section meets every Sunday for the Remembrance Service and Breaking of Bread from 8:30am to 11:30am.
